Me and the owner of that cat have become quite good friends, she lives in America. It brought a lump to my throat seeing the picture framed :)
She asked me to do a drawing of the cat who is her sons cat and he grew up with him, and the cat is getting on a bit in age and she didn't know if he had much time left, I emailed her the progress pictures of the cat (I take work in progress pictures with most of my drawings) as I did him and they loved it.
To say I am pleased with the way it has turned out is an understatement, and seeing it framed up like that really has hit the nail on the head why I get so much enjoyment out of these drawings.
That is brilliant Emma, you must feel so proud to see it.......it certainly deserves pride of place.....

Thanks Fran, It is really nice doing a picture of a horse and having a break from cats :-D
I have also started drawing another cat, unfortunately this cat died in surgery   , the owner asked me to do a drawing of her a few months ago and then she passed away and now the time was right and she asked me again to do a drawing again and we decided on this drawing as it really shows off her eyes.

Emma you really do have a gift when it comes to drawing cats. I LOVE all the pictures you have posted. Which leads me onto asking if you if you could possibly draw my cats for me? As with the others I would gratefully make a donation to an animal charity and pay for postage etc.
I completely understand if you are already bogged down with other drawings.

I have emailed a selection of pics for you to choose from, so you can take wich one you think is most suitable. About donations, would you be happy for me to donate toy FOAL farm? They have all sorts of animals, including cats, and they do great work. Link to FOAL here http://http://www.foalfarm.org.uk/

Hi Anne,
Yes donations to ANY animal charity will be fine, I leave it up to the individuals to make donations if they want to, no pressure from me, if people still want a drawing done I will do one whether or not they make a donation, just with people asking if they could pay me I would rather any money went to an animal charity.
If somebody wanted to make a donation to a goldfish charity I would be happy with that :-D

Luckily tomorrow I am working from home :-D
Hi Emma
Your pics are absolutely beautiful are you still doing them at the moment? I would like a drawing done of my cat Toby. Unfortunately I had to have Toby put down this May aged only 10 months and I was devastated. One of your drawings would be a very fitting memorial to him. He was so special. Let me know if it is OK and I will send you a photo of him. Thanks Kay.
Elaine

Hi Emma, I know I have a long wait before you have time to get to my pics but I really dont mind if you want to do Kays first.
Kay, I am so very sorry to hear about your loss, I know how heartbreaking it is therefore I think, if Emma doesnt mind me saying, I have no problems about waiting longer for mine.
Thank you very much Elaine for your kind offer but I am prepared to wait. You asked way before me and considering how busy Emma must be I really don't feel right pushing in. I have attached a pic of my Toby so you can see how gorgeous he was. Thank you once again for that lovely offer let me see your drawing when you get it.

Wow....he was a stunner Kay!
What a gorgeous cat he was Kay!!

Hi Kay,
Yes of course I will do a drawing for you, can you please email me your pictures to EJG@supanet.com using the PM on here tends to compress the photos down a bit. He was a gorgeous cat :(
Thanks Mags, Fran and Emma. You will have to excuse me but looking at his photo again has set me off crying. Don't think I will ever get over this one. To think I only had him for 5 mths. It also upset his breeder as she had him for the first 5 mths and he was named after his great grandad who she lost at a young age as well.
Emma I will look through the pics I have and choose my favourite but please bear with me.
There's always one that is that bit extra special and it always seems to be that one that you lose at an early age too....I have never quite got over the loss of my favourite cat of all times and I had him pts 9 years ago now...it still hurts but in time you do learn to live with it and you will in time be able to look at photos and smile not cry {{{{Hugs Kay}}}

Hi Kay, in your own time, I am not going anywhere :)
I know what it is like to lose a cat you just connect with :(

He surely was a very handsome fellow indeed. The offer stands and will leave it with you and Emma.
Thanks again Elaine. Have you a pic of your cats?

Kay what a wonderful looking cat he was
Thanks Naomi. His show name was Sasharmey Taken by Storm and he certainly took my heart by storm.

Kay, you can view my cats here. Winston is the oldest at 20 years and has been with me all those years. Eva is 18 months, she too has been with since she was a kitten. Bernie is our latest and is around 2 years we think. He has been with us for a month.
Oh Elaine the pics are so gorgeous. I have a PC addict as well. Winston looks a lovely old man.
Just out of interst, how are your present drawings coming along Emma?

Hi Luke,
Not done anything over the past couple of weeks, drawing commences tomorrow though :) and I have a whole day free as well!!!! total bliss, I am still doing Frans horse and also the cat I started so I will update with photos hopefully tomorrow. :)
Hi Emma
I am still trying to decide which photo of Toby to send you. It's a bit difficult through the tears but just to let you know I haven't forgot or changed my mind.
Kay
I've read this entire thread and am just blown away! I'm so touched that you're so generous with your talent Emma.
May I join the back of the queue with my four? - it's difficult to get them all in the same photo but would love a picture with all of them together if you can do this from a selection of shots?
EmmaG
30-12-2005, 03:04 PM
Kay whenever you are ready :)
LMC of course you can join the que :) I can try and do a nice drawing of the four of them from different photos, I have one to do of six cats :) Just let me have your photos when you are ready, email address is EJG@Supanet.com

lol DM I would rather practice my drawings of animal for owners who appreciate them it can be a bit boring just drawing animals from photos where you do not know the owners, if not the drawing might turn out quite well but the owner would never get to see it.
