There is a grassy bit with cool, long grass to meditate in and eat.

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/2011-07-03090.jpg

There are leaves to hide under:

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/2011-07-03188.jpg

The shed is open so let's go explore there:

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/2011-07-03151.jpg

On second thought.... it's not that interesting:

Dive kit(ten) inspection!

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/2011-07-03150.jpg

Ooooo big (three milimeter:roll: - Ed) flying thing to catch and eat for a light snack - 'scuse me a moment...

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/2011-07-03165.jpg

And there is a bee!

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/2011-07-03104.jpg
Not that we caught it...

We do like looking at bumblebees:

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/2011-07-03158.jpg

And stopping to smell the violets on the way back in again (sun's back on the cat tree...):

More great pics, thanks for sharing Himself with us! His Aby back stripe (I always called it the racing stripe) is showing up very well in those shots.

Am I imagining it or does his coat texture indeed seem to be softer than the ruddy Aby?

He does have a very nice little racing stripe. ^^ And his fur is softer than I remember Rovers being. It may just be his kitten-fur, so he could get sleeker and less fluff-soft with maturity.

So here I am after more than three hours in the horrible grumbly thing. I wonder what happens next?

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/2011-07-23009.jpg
Next to me on this side is one of my two brothers. He *never* stops playing so at least I can pester him if I get bored.
Further over that side is my grandad and I'm studiously not looking right to the disgustingly cute Singapura kittens. Nope, completely invisible because I'm the cutest coolest and handsomesest. They-who-feed-me says so and they are occasionally right:

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/2011-07-23011.jpg
Lots of nice people came to visit and pet me, all wielding fuzzy or feathered sticks to catch. Then I fell asleep for a bit:

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/2011-07-23017.jpg
And when I woke up, I had all these fluttery things on my pen. They're not very good to eat so played paw-catcher with my brother for a bit longer until I was stuffed back in my carrier to go home. The food was good in the pen but it was good to be back with my own puppy to tease and lots of space to go mental in.

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/2011-07-23023.jpg

[Ed] Wee mittens was also nominated for the finals for Best in Show. My flabber was properly ghasted. ^^ He had a grand time playing with his brother and flirting with anyone who came anywhere near him, and the occasional nap. He also scored six catnip mice, one of which he fed to the puppy when we got home. O_o Ardous his day was not. I'm thinking about making him drive back next time as I was quite tired. ^^ (I stewarded while His Nibs was having a wonderful time. )

My boss has made me post this ego-flattering photo of Brave Sir Toffee besting the Beast of Maude to make up for any photos where His Nibs has been portrayed as snuggling up to the enemy.
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/2011-08-06047.jpg
I think it is Toffee-the-python playing at devouring his latest "snack". ^^ He couldn't quite swallow a whole dog though. Albus didn't even seem to notice.
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/2011-08-05065.jpg
Here is Himself recreating his kittenhood hood where he claims to have been living in a box on the street. I've seen the box he started out in, in a kittening-room with all mod cons and hot-and-cold running slaves but I get told off for giggling. ^.^

They chased each other through the garden all of Saturday, destroying all in their path. This is apparently "helping us with the harvest" though I am unsure of the exact benefit for either the veggie-eaters in the family or the survivability of the garden.

angieh
08-08-2011, 11:34 AM
Young Master is a good story-teller then? But of course. Please tell him that I am impressed with his attempt to swallow a whole dog in one go. Does he do correspondence courses? My Pip could do with instruction.

(I have to admit to smiling when I saw that you had added to Toffee's Thread - always anticipate something good - no pressure of course Toffee!)

Hreow
08-08-2011, 11:41 AM
I can give you Toffee's guide to stretching, which may be a good thing if Pip will be attempting to swallow dogs whole?

Now before we set off on another adventure, a short guide to stretching. Very important to do before chasing bugblatter beasts or serious napping.
Are you paying attention? You there in the back as well?
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/stretching1.jpg
Then we will begin. Stretch as far as you can with the front paws curled as if you were hanging from the wire of a pair of circular needles being used to knit, say, a pair of socks. Note the back legs crossed lightly at the heel:
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/stretching2.jpg
Then we move to the "paddle". Stretch one of your front legs up and press the other down like so:
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/stretching3.jpg
Alternate legs until you get bored. Move to an upness somewhere and do the "casually show the family jewels as you clean the back of a thigh". You're now bending the spine and the legs the opposite direction which is good for stretching antagonist muscle groups:
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/stretching4.jpg
For the next exercise we need a partner. Wind both front paws firmly around his nose. Note the concave line of the back, the gentle sideways s-curve of the spine and the shoulders:
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/stretching5.jpg
Haul yourself up to level with the nose, the adventurous kitty will use the dog's jaw for an extra springy lift. Biting back is optional at this point:
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/stretching6.jpg
Then have your partner step to one side and lift his nose which relieves pressure all along the backbone as it stretches every last vertebrae. On advanced level you now move your grip up to the doggy forehead.
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/stretching7.jpg
And now you are limber enough to curl up in a bag and sleep (or go on to swallow the dog ^^).
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/bagKitten1.jpg
Get your two-legged slaves to elevate the bag for a nice view when you wake up. :)
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/bagKitten2.jpg

Now go away and let me sleep. It's serious business at my level and concentration is vital. Shoo!

Oi! Since when do I address my fans through bars?
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/2011-09-17035.jpg
Here I am again. No brother to play with but Grandad is down the other end of the row. I've hissed at him in person when she-of-the-lead-end took me down there to say hello to my old family. Rover's brother and sister were in pens behind mine. I wasn't allowed to follow sotle when she went over there to wish them well so I couldn't hiss at them.
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/2011-09-17037.jpg
I got fluttery bits again. They were still not any good to eat. One of the stewards said that the quality of the Foreign kittens was very high at the show. Of course it was, **I** was there.
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/2011-09-17050.jpg

Some purple flutteries for the fans. We didn't get anywhere near those this time. This is good, we get to go home to more food, dog and sleeps quicker without.

As long as he enjoys the shows, we will go. He rediscovered hissing at the beginning of the latest show and that worried me a bit. Abyssinians have a bit of a reputation of being difficult and he's really not.
I hand you over to His Nibs who has a new message to the connaiseuses.

Now to show that my spirit is as artistic as my apperance is gorgeous. ^^
Here I am, fearlessly facing off to a block of cardboard that will be my new sculpture:
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/2011-09-25010.jpg

I'm seeking the perfect image to show off the Art. "Snow" maybe, or possibly "dogfood"... so many possibilities, so little time.

Two of the things I live with were busy debating which bin to recycle me in (Ed: the bag is the official paper recycling bag), not a scrap of sensitivity or flair there. I despair at their philisitinity. (The third was unconscious on the floor after a long day of fetching a tennisball.) Not the ideal companions for a budding artist.

Yes, me too Mags - sitting here with a grin to beat the Cheshire Cat!

Now a week or so ago in puppy class, we were shown the "curtsey" which looks rather similar to what The Young Master is demonstrating. Monty has yet to manage that, as he does have short legs, as do I. Think you are going to have to demonstrate that position a bit more so we get it right.

dandysmom
04-10-2011, 10:18 PM
Isn't it amazing that the dignity shows thru even when he's being silly? An Aby thing, methinks! That's why Sultan got such an important sounding name as he could actually manage being both a kitten and dignified. Young Master is displaying it too.......

Hreow

>Does his Cute Tum like to be tickled, or is it beneath his dignity???

He does like having his tummy tickled, I've never known him to change his mind about it halfway through either. He really is a ridiculously sweet cat and I'm glad that he feels so comfortable in our garden that he can practice his inverted ouroboros moves, which would make him very vulnerable to bigger predators and other cats giggling & pointing. ^^

How do you practice the curtsey? I'm thinking I could start with the curtsey Albus does when released from his crate and just hope he works out why he's getting praise and a treat. On the other hand, he's thick as two planks...

Well, in my own defence, it's all because you posted that photo of The Young Master standing with his thumb stick - I find it hard to think of him any other way now. :D

Of course, he could just be "being a young catling"!

My, hasn't he grown up? He looks so elegant and regal. Does he still accept respectful cuddles?

He's a complete cuddle-bug at night. :D During the day he's mostly busy keeping the dog in line or exploring outside but he has been known to curl up in my lap. Especially if I need the loo or was just getting up to get a fresh cuppa... ^_^

Spoiled, bratty and proud of it. ^^ He'd probably like to trade the dog in for a few smaller toys but he doesn't have much to complain about, that is true. And thank you.

BEAU ISN'T A GREAT CUDDLER, BUT JOY IS STARTING TO WANT HER DAILY CUDDLE.
SHE COMES UP BESIDE ME ON THE COUCH AND MEOWS AND LOOKS UP. NOW AND AGAIN SHE WILL JUMP UP ON ME!
SHE THEN STAYS ON MY KNEE FOR A SHORT TIME, THEN GOES TO THE END OF THE COUCH AND CURLS UP WANTING TO BE STROKED. THE PURRING IS QUITE LOUD AND AFTER ABOUT 4 OR 5 MINS SHE GETS UP AND GOES ON HER MERRY WAY TO CAUSE FURTHER HAVOC WITH JOY, OR SLEEP!!
BEAU DOES LIKE HER STROKING , BUT USUALLY HAS TO BE DONE ON THE FLOOR ON " HER TERMS"

CinderToffee *did* get to the ball after all. His first Big Boy show.

Can't a cat get any privacy here?

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/privacy.jpg

He got the first and Best of Breed in his Open, His first Premiere Certificate and a glass(?) sculpture-plaque thing for his main and a first, second, third in his sides. He had a grand day out, rode in the dog's crate in the car so that he could wander about and look out the window, people- & cat-watched and had gourmet food served in his pen. We both sleept well today - eight hours driving through pitch dark, pouring rain and strong & gusty winds, and five hours of lifting cats out of their pens for the judge to inspect knackered me.
Strenuous day for the show cat. ^^

Oh bless, he did very well! Congrats to you both, you must be very tired but very proud. It sounds as if he's one of those cats who enjoys the show and all the admiration and fuss. How nice. :D

He'll need to earn two more bits of cardboard before he gets titled. :D His wins as a kitten do not count towards his "Premier". April at the earliest in other words. :D
He slept soundly all day yesterday so he's a right wee pain today. :D;

Back again there has been:
Well, there was quite a lot of this:
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/2012-01-08013.jpg

And then some heavy exercise:
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/2012-01-02019.jpg

But mostly I have explored the new fort that the slaves have provided (though Albus seems to think it is his bed - silly dog)
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/2012-01-21001.jpg

And I quite like this stripey new bed, you can hide from drafts under the cushion.
{Albus, confused}
Why is it in my bed?

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/2012-01-21009.jpg
They now have three beds each (though Toffee thinks he has six) in the sitting room and we barely have space to move. :)

No cat sense at all.

LOL funny at times!
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/83b1eaca.jpg

although I am usually polite and snort behind a discrete paw like so:

And the least said about dogs...
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Dog/7bb9ff86.jpg

Little do they know that the cuddly wee sweetie of a kitten that they think I am,
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h49/Hreow/Cat/5558e375.jpg

turns into this sinister figure:

Great shots and storyline Hreow. The Young Master is looking very good, as well he should with six beds. Poor Albus - dogs have no dignity at all, do they?
