Skye

Can’t believe I am posting this but we had to let my darling girl go last night.

Her kidneys were damaged due to what we believe was chronic kidney failure. She had stopped eating almost and was just picking at things and had lost weight.

The vets took bloods on Monday had her on fluids all day and we took her to the small animal hospital for overnight fluids. They did blood tests but her levels never changed. I took her back to my vet yesterday as she was meant to be getting more fluids but I spoke to the vet and asked if they would actually help especially due to her being 15.5yr old. Vet was honest and said probably not so I too. The decision to take her home for the day to spoil her and spend time with her together with Steven then take her back last night.

She didn’t fight the vet to get the cannula in and let me cuddle her which she had never done. She slipped away instantly because her body just couldn’t take anymore.

She is up there with her 2 brothers keeping them in line!!

14 years of my constant shadow, head warmer at night and my work buddy before the days of Robyn.

Will miss her soo much but she gave me so much so it’s the very least I could do was let her go peacefully and with dignity as she was always posh!!

Fly high my beautiful girl will always love and miss you ❤️❤️

Re: Skye

So very sorry to hear the devastating news about your beloved Skye, Pamela. She was a truly unique girl and you;ll always remember her as your furry little head warmer on cold winter nights. You did everything you could, Pamela and in the end, you thought of Skye's well being and put it before your own, which is so brave and hard to do. Skye's spirit won't be far from you, my friend and she will be watching over you with Harris and Barney by her side.

Run high and free now, darling Skye. You are sadly missed and will never be forgotten by your family who loved you so much.
