Friday

Morning everyone.dry and bright here at the moment.
Just about to take the dogs on the beach and then do a bit of cleaning up.
Today I must start reading a dog training book to work on Kwames behaviour.
Hope everyone has a nice day

Re: Friday

Morning Shelley! Sunshine and showers here, just had a bit of a cloudburst and it's quite breezy. OH is out with Monty now. OH has recovered from being poorly yesterday. It's not usual for him, so was a bit of a drama! Not sure when the neighbours will forgive Monty, I think I may have to go and buy some flowers for at least 2 of the neighbours who gave chase!

OH is playing in his first golf match later this afternoon and has a dinner afterwards. It's a charity match at his golf club in aid of Diabetes Research, so a very good cause. He doesn't start his round until 4.00 and then dinner afterwards, so I expect he will be in quite late. Whooooopppppeeeee, I get to choose what to watch on TV!!

Shelley, what specific issues of Kwame's behaviour do you hope to tackle?

Have a good day everyone.

Re: Friday

Glad your o/h is feeling better Angie and I'm sure your neighbours didn't mind helping.
We enjoyed a nice walk on the beach this morning, we used lunge reins with the dogs to give them some safe freedom.
We keep hoping to see the Otters again, there have been several sightings.
Caravan spik and span so a nice relaxing afternoon ahead.
I've decided to trade Kwame in for a new dog
No seriously I want to work on calming signals with him as he's very reactive to passing other dogs and also to large vehicles.

Re: Friday

Have you thought about TTouch massage Shelley? The main training centre is in Cheshire, so it's a bit far for us. They do one-to-one or day workshops. I am going to see if I can find a practitioner nearer here as I'd like to explore it for Monty and the cats. The technique can be used on any animal. It's meant to be wonderful for reactive dogs!

Here's the UK link http://www.ttouchtteam.co.uk/

Re: Friday

Thanks Angie, I will look into it too.
The book I have got is all about creating a focused and confident dog, sounds good, I just need to motivate myself to open it,lol

Re: Friday

Seems like it's just you and me today, Angie.
Since we stopped with the formal training I'm not as motivated, of course we do some form of training everyday such as walking on a lead, leave it, sit etc. I know they could both do more. May enrol Malaika in some classes just for maintain acne when I get back, she used to really enjoy it.
