Dahlia Monday

Hi all! Just noticed that my bright red Dahlia has been frosted, hence the title.

Laundry and some vacuuming this morning and put the sloes in to steep, and also have one kilner in gin with star anise and cinnamon (thanks to Truth!).

Been around the garden collecting Monty's toys in case the rain comes later today .... and will be in the greenhouse this afternoon.

Have a good day folks.

Re: Dahlia Monday

Hi, Angie, those to follow. Partial sun here and a whisker milder than yesterday: 13℃ (55℉) at a bit past 10:30 am. No wind, chance of showers by afternoon. No frost here in the City yet, usually early to mid-November. .... the heat island effect. No news, all's quiet.

What;s a kilner, Angie? Hope all are well and having a good day......

Re: Dahlia Monday

It's a type of preserving jar Eileen - Kilner being the maker's name. Actually, mine aren't real Kilners but a cheaper version that has IMO a better seal.

Re: Dahlia Monday

I'm here. *waves* Just not terribly talkative right now.

At parents for the moment, then guides, then I get to go back home and hide myself away until time for work tomorrow.

cya!

Re: Dahlia Monday

I recommend Echinacea to build immune system! + Vit C - always a good boost.

Re: Dahlia Monday

Hi all, busy day at meetings out of the office today- Kirby Hall near Corby. I didn't get a chance to take a picture!

It is blustery here today- I can't find a way to keep mu cold frame open- one gust of wind and it slams shut so the plants in there will probably cook!

The star anise and cinammon sounds interesting! Is that as well as sloes or instead?

Hope you have a peaceful evening Squirrel and hope you get rid of the cold before it gets you Pamela! If echinacea and vit c fail you can always try the hot toddy option.
