Re: Sunny Saturday

So pleased to hear that Leia will be back with her mum today. xxx
How are you feeling now Eileen? Hope all is well. xxx

Overcast and a wee bit chilly here today, but cannt complain as we have had such a good run of good weather of late.

Gotta head off and feed some cats and walk some dogs. Then chill out for the night.

Hope every one is well and having a nice weekend. xxx

Re: Sunny Saturday

Hi Eileen and Elaine .... just back from walking Monty Bogle up at Stansted Park. Saw loads of other dogs, most very friendly. Met a very nice young black poodle called Rudi (for Rudolph) who had a nice elderly gentleman in tow and another labradoodle that looked more like a Wheaten and was in the company of 4 people all of whom made a fuss of Monty. We may have walked a bit too far for him and he is a rather tired little pup now. He is a bad lead puller and we are trying to cure him of this - we know about changing direction, but if there are any other hints please advise!!!

Lovely warm day here. Made strawberry jam and I did a bit of weeding around the lavender - with help from M.Bogle!

Edited to say he can't be that tired - I've just had to rescue OH's trainer half way down the hall!!!

Re: Sunny Saturday

Morning.
We've been spoiled this week with lovely sunny weather but now the clouds are rolling in so we're paying our dues.
Eileen, so very pleased that Leia is coming home. Do let us know when she's there!

Re: Sunny Saturday

Brilliant news about Leia Eileen.

Well I have been to work, and now home........hence why I am typing.

Having Spag Bol for dinner and looking forwards to it.....I am starving. So apart from work done nothing much walked Sal when I got home.

And with regard to walking Monty Angie. I think its just habit and routine, to be honest I don't think I had a plan with Sal took it as it comes, it is one step forward three back with pups then just when you think they have it they hit "teenage years" about 8-9 months and you go back to the beginning as they get a brain of their own and don't "need to listen to you."

You can do it honest, are you going to go to a KC puppy foundation class? you may find that a lot of benefit and see other new pup owners (regardless of ow many pups you have had) each one is different.

Re: Sunny Saturday

Sorry about your weather lynz - we could really do with some of your rain, but not the cold - it is still chilly here in the evening. Sitting out with a sundowner is not a nice prospect yet!

Kazz - we are certainly looking at training/puppy classes. Haven't found just the right thing yet.

Eileen - very glad Leia is coming home soon. Hope she settles back in easily and quickly.

Re: Sunny Saturday

Glad to hear Leia is coming home.

Monty sounds like a combination of great fun and hard work.

I've basically spent the day playing with dirt! Started off collecting free compost from the local recycling centre to fill a raised bed. It is a great system-our green and food waste is collected and composted and then you can go and collect it back free!

I then experimented with a coir block. It is a solid bock you stick in a wheelbarrow- add water to and mix up to make a peat free compost. To think I used to get told off for making mud pies. I used it to plant up bedding in pots so I'll see how it goes.

Waiting now to see if our badger turns up. For the last three nights it has come at 9:30 to clean up under the bird feeder. I'm wondering if the squeaking/squealing animal I've been hearing late at night could be badger cubs playing?

Ooooooh badger cubs! That would be lovely. Do you have an infra-red video camera handy?

Lucky you, being able to collect the recycled compost free. We have to pay to have it collected and pay if we want to buy any back!!!
