The Great Escape

Like the film:

Scene 1: The living room
I am on couch snuggled up under blanket with laptop.
I hear back door open and feel the gentle breeze rustle past.
The kittens little noses twitch with interest.
Cali gets up and wanders nonchalently out door.
OH is saying something, Breagh takes off like greased lightening, I try to extract myself from blanket, laptop and wires while sceaming 'door' at bemused OH.

Scene 2: Transition
I surprise myself at how quick someone with no energy can move as I see Breagh's tail disapper out the back door
OH and myself tear out after her, grabbing small useless torch on way.

Scene 3: The yard
It is pitch black - we have no street lights.
Breagh is belting about with her tail like a bottlebrush - we can hardly see her
Breagh does not wish to respond to my happy (hysterical) little calls to her, or the rattling of the treat tin.
OH uses useless torch to try and track her mad dashing about in all directions bar close to either of us or the back door.
Eventually she comes close enought to me for me to grab her

Scene 4: The Kitchen
Breagh is being smothered in love and kisses by me because I was 1 - so scared I'd lose her and 2 - so scared I'd hurt her.
Izzi is demanding to get attention too
I can hardly breath due to hysteria and after effects of flu
Cali is mooching for food/biscuit

So, I know at this time of year OH is a bit 'blonde' as his mind is fixed on the ewes being fit and well for the rams and all things connected. But honestly I could not believe when I asked him why he left the door open and he said 'I forgot'

ARGHHHHH!

So is she really stressed out by all this?

see for your self

Re: The Great Escape

That was scary! Glad you and Breagh are OK. I would hit OH over the head with a wet haddock if you have one handy.

Re: The Great Escape

Mine will leave the back door ajar when going out to lock gate/put bins out etc. 100s and 100s of times I've said "CATS"!!!!! but still he does it must be a bloke thing . . .

Glad all fluffs are OK and you've recovered from the excitement; please do go and bathe that bump on your OH's head though . . . he didn't mean it; honest!

Re: The Great Escape

What a graphic description, I can just see it... how awfully scary! Glad all ended well, but I must say your two look quite traumatized after the excitement!

Seriously, they get over things like that so quickly, more so than us. The time Leia got out and was terrified until I caught her ... she was absolutely fine once she was back in the porch; I,was a nervous quaking mass of nerves and needed a dry martini at once!

Poor OH, he really didn't mean to.......

Re: The Great Escape

That story was better than any book, CM!

So pleased you managed to catch Breagh though ........ it's amazing how you can find that extra bit of energy in an emergency, isn't it.

Enjoy the rest of your evening!
