11th September 2001

Remembering those who lost their lives on that tragic day...

It happened 9 years ago today but that horrific day will remain with me forever.

I was in the middle of making my granddaughter's 1st birthday cake when the news broke, from then on the cake was forgotten and I was glued to the TV in shock. The cake was never finished, I had lost interest in it.

My heart goes out to all the families who have lost loved ones in the wake of destruction that day and all of the days since.

I sat and hugged Hayley, who was only a year old, glued to the tv with tears streaming down my face. Still watch footage of that day in disbelief

RIP to all those lost, and thinking of their loved ones xx

The date will be forever remembered for the atrocity commited.
I was at my new Dentists in the waiting area and gazing at the TV without realy watching it. When i saw the plane hit i thought it was a film.
RIP to all those poor people lost and thoughts to the families and friends.

I was home alone and caught the news on Children's TV which just happened to be on. I didn't believe it was real at first.

I feel so sad that human beings can still do such terrible things to other human beings. Trouble with being of the John Lennon generation.

May the long time sun shine on all those lost and grieving.

I was sitting in my car outside my children's school listening to the radio waiting for school to end... got the kids and went home and was glued to the TV all night...

Shocking. So sad. Just could not believe it.

RIP x

Have been thinking of those dreadful hours all day today. I had been in a meeting at work and we were told about it. Like so many others there was disbelief all round.

Thoughts and best wishes with to all those affected by the dreadful tragedy.

Re: 11th September 2001

We were in the process of booking a holiday to USA - Disney - never did book.
Hardly able to believe what I was seeing on the TV......a bit like a movie, yet so heartbreakingly real, almost as if you (via the cameras) were intruding on something so private yet so public, you could not look away; it was as if the World was hypnotisied the the drama unfolding.

Then watching the towers go down, the dust and confusion it was like watching the end of the World.

It was days/weeks before (although I still can't believe it, in fact I don' think of it) that I accepted planes had flown into the towers......man's capacity for hurting man........unstoppable. Yet from that very act watching the people of NY you saw suc charity and capacity for love of their fellow man that it restored your faith at the same time as destroying it.

Bit like the blitz............man made horror that shows the worst in the human race, while at the same time showing us at our very best. Mankind a contradiction in terms? Go figure humankind.

That is so well expressed Kazz. A complete enigma, yes a bit like God creating the Devil.
