Windy Wednesday

It was blowing a gale in the night - I could hear my wind chimes in the garden! It's still breezy now - and cold.

Fifi is at the vets for her paw op today and I have just returned from the doctors for the removal of the skin tag which had grown to almost an inch I have 4 stitches, one of which missed the locally anaesthetised area and nearly caused me to hit the roof (and the doc)

We're going to look at another office in a bit but in the meantime I'm working from home on some writing I need to get done. Am a bit worried about Fifi as she's no spring chicken and I hoping she's going to be OK.

Re: Windy Wednesday

Hi Yola - hope you mend well and quickly and Fifi the same. ((((HUGS)))) to you both.

It is very cold here today and overcast. Not windy though - thoroughly miserable. Just come back from popping to the shop for some bread and orange juice and had to put the heating back on to try and warm up. Got rid of 3 plastic boxes worth of bottles - not ALL alcohol, I hasten to add!!!

The lady came from the firm that provides MIL's carers this morning to assess for further support and someone to come in so that OH and I can get out for a few hours a week. That all seems OK and we will just wait now to see when that service can start. OH and I are trying to find things/places we can go for a few hours that are not too far away - hopefully with the weather improving (????) we should be able to take a picnic up on the Downs.

Hope everyone has a good day - try and keep warm peeps.

Re: Windy Wednesday

Hi, Yola, Angie and all. Mostly cloudy here this morning, 11 C (51 F), will be below normal all day. A sleep-in morning, just pottering; garden is looking refreshed after the needed rain yesterday.

Ouch, Yola, that must have really smarted! Hope Fifi will be just fine after her op. Angie, that's good news about getting a break; picnic sounds lovely...cucumber sandwiches? What do you usually take on a picnic? Apparently it's high nesting season here: I've filled the suet holder twice with fur and it vanishes rapidly ...I've told Leia to shed a bit more, please as it's obviously very high grade nesting material! I'm in a much better mood as I finally finished my Federal and State tax returns yesterday ...done for another year!

Hope all are well and the poorly people and pusses improve. The quiz is tonight at 8, do come!

Re: Windy Wednesday

Hello all brief visit, been to work home now and going out for dinner with friends.

Pre Op (creeping) I call it.....on their behalf.... but nice anyhow they want to see me out and about before.

Tonight out with Bex, Jo and Marion. Going for a pizza and a chat.

Out tomorrow evening too with Chris, Sue, Annette, Morag, SuzieQ. ...going to see a physic...if we can get tickets, then a carvery meal.

Friday going to a friend from works 60th birthday party at the Cricket club. It was a surprise but her granddaughter spilt the beans so now Val knows but is so excited. So loads of us going.

Sat out to the pictures (going to see the film can't recall the name but its where the family take in the homesless young lad who becomes a football star/player)
Going with friends of Dave's ...then onto an Italian....where meeting our friends Leroy and Yvonne who are joining us for dinner...and maybe Simon and Emma too.

Having a drink Sunday lunchtime with Julie and Lyn not seen them for about 4/5 years or so I used to work with them, different store they popped up on [Sys edit: Contains pet forums]....and reunited us.... hence meeting for a drink 12 ish on Sunday.
Then invited to a BBQ.....

So quite a busy few days......anyone would think I was dying...not just going into hospital.....with the people coming out of the woodwork........

So thats my agenda as well as work for the next few days. Plan on breaking up Monday lunchtime from work and getting hair coloured and sorted and eyebrows threaded before going into hospital.

Re: Windy Wednesday

Hi all - very windy here - pc keep getting disconnected

Hope fifi does ok yola (and ouch for that stitch!)

angieh - I remember having a picnic in August on the South Downs when I was down at Hickstead for a week. It was lovely. I remember there is a big tunnel goes right throught he middle. Anyway - I hope you get your extra carers, time out together will be good.

Kazz - wow - I'd be jiggered if I tried to do all that socialising. (and eating) I do hopw you enjoy it all - eyebrow threading - often thought about it, do you think it is better than waxing or plucking?

Enjoy the day peeps.

Re: Windy Wednesday

Fifi OK, if a litte restless - she's hungry and also keeps hopping off and on the litter tray. Her paw is uncovered so I have to make sure there are no knocks to it. The boys are under the strictest of instructions about not picking her up etc.

I'm sore as anything; as for changing the dressing tomorrow, stuff that! If OH can't bring himself to do it I'll be back down the nurses! I'd love to join in with the quiz, just will need to see how things go
