Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!

Do you ever feel life is consipring against you.
Just as we were heading off to buy animal food, we noticed there was something wrong with the rayburn chimney. The chimney is very tall to make sure the fumes are vented properly, and there are 2 'struts' from the apex of the house attatched onto the chimney- they have broken off, pulling off the tiles and leaving the chimney unsupported. The chimney and struts are stainless steel, but the clasp holding it together wasn't and has now rusted away- how :censored: stupid is that. It has only been up there for 3 winters and it is now paper thin. We can't do anything much for now, other than take a section out of the chimney, so it is shorter- high winds here at the moment- and pray it doesn't rain. Intially we will contact the company who put in the rayburn, because they are rayburn recommended, although we don't hold out much hope from them. We are still waiting for a door handle we ordered months ago, we finally contacted rayburn themselves and had the handle within a week.
I am so peed off, I feel like we should just give up and walk away.

How awful! Shoddy workmanship and miserable follow up from that company, it sounds like. Why not contact Rayburn directly and ask for a recommendation to another more reliable firm? They would probably appreciate knowing the situation since they recommended the firm .....

I'm surprised. Rayburn work hard at developing and matainting their brand so I'm disgusted to hear they're treating you in such a shoddy manner. I would make much more of a fuss; I'm certain they will sit up and pay attention to a major complaint.

Re: Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!

We had Rayburn installed about 6 years age. Their after sales is superb. I'd contact them and explain. If nothing else I'm sure they wouldn't use the company again.

Very frustrating.

Re: Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!

The company sent out 2 guys to fix the roof and chimney. The one guy said that the tiles had lifted because they weren't put on properly, and he wasn't sure if the company would cover that. I said the tiles wouldn't have lifted if the clap hadn't rusted and ripped them up. Anyway we have to phone the company to see what they say, but the lum is fixed and they have claimed that this clamp is stainless steel- we will wait and see.
