Spiders on the increaseIt appears there may be an abundance of spiders around this winter due to the weather and favourable breeding conditions ![]() http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/8273960.stm It's bad enough now when I keep walking into well hidden spider's webs in the garden ........ there have also been more of the critters appearing in the bath! ![]() I feel sorry for the spider haters amongst us here but just thought I'd give you the warning! ![]()

I am an extremely lucky person then this autumn as I have two very good spider hunters in Kizzy and Pip. I don't like spiders, but have learned over the years not to have fits of the screaming ab-dabs. A glass and a beer mat used to be my best friends because I didn't like to kill them but now I have a GUARD CAT and her assistant! Funnily enough I don't mind the ones that spin their beautiful webs in the garden. Generally Common Cross in this area. I think it's because I know their name. Not that I want to cuddle them of course, but I can see their fascination and their webs are so lovely with dew on them. |

I don't mind the smaller types of spiders, large spiders are a different story - e.g. daddy long legs (they are horrible!). Dylan's useless with spiders, they are too small a prey for him to bother with. |
