Oh wow - I do want to keep more chooks! It must be lovely to have them from the egg as it were - I would think they get very used to being handled?

Thanks all.
Mags - we incubated some eggs and have been experimenting with different breeds, will sell surplus ones.
Have got 8 big hens and several youngsters.
