Unexpected arrival.

Darn Petco.
I thought I deserved to spend a little money to reward myself for quitting smoking...seriously I was thinking some toys for the kids or something...I totally forgot today was the day that Petco gets their baby ferret shipment in....BIG MISTAKE.
So I had mentioned to my OH a few weeks back I had a dream about a little panda ferret. He kind of blew it off and said "No more" so I forgot about it. Well, what do you know there are a few pandas in there today. K pointed out this baby. He liked the spots on her head and the white tip of her tail. Said it'd be "harmless to hold her". Riiiiiight.
At first I thought she was a boy. I didn't see a bellybutton but I felt something. Upon further inspection I noticed it was a bump UNDERNEATH the skin...probably the stitch where she got fixed. I look further down and she's got a prolapsed rectum..and above that a vulva so yep, it's a girl.
I purposely didn't bring enough money with me to get a ferret but K chimed in he could cover the rest and I could pay him back when we got home. So much for keeping me from getting another fuzz!
I gave in because the youngest baby I've had before is five months old..so I've never had a true, true baby (she is about eight weeks old, hot off the press LOL). And yes..I'm weak willed. I started rationalizing that i had to go to the vet soon anyway, blah blah..you know the drill, it was over. I was in love.
I left a msg on my vet's answering machine as soon as I got home. I want her seen ASAP. I did moisten her bootie and give her VERY SOFT food but still..I want it checked by my vet. And she needs a wellness exam, vax, the works anyway...so yep. I'll probably take her first availability. She works every other weekend, I'm hoping this is the weekend she works. She just saw me two weeks ago to meet Lainey for the first time..she's gonna think I'm insane coming in with another new one, LOL.
Anyhow, I'm thinking of calling her Annie. It's just what popped in my head (like Little Orphan Annie...). K doesn't like it. Not sure. We'll see if it sticks.
Oh yes. She's also as deaf as a post.
So that's it guys. Four is my limit. I am definitely done. Really, this time!!!
Oh yes, I suppose you'd like to see pictures!

Tink - she's an angel!!! You two are as bad as each other . . . "no, we mustn't . . . oh OK then ". Still Annie (lovely name, hope it does stick) is a very pretty addition to your furry brood

Thank you! The whole time I was in the checkout I was shaking my head saying "I can't believe I'm getting another" but will you look at that face? How could I resist! Especially with OH..he is such an enabler!!!

She's a very lucky little lady to have you find her Tink! Her angel was smiling when you went into that shop. You and K are both softies - but I applaud you because you will provide that little cutie a very good home.

I would have been unable to resist her either. She is just beautiful. Love the name too.

Hope the rest of the gang accept her. How long will you need to wait before they are introduced?
