I'd get a small house of my own, (and move into it!), adopt a female cat to keep Dylan company and spoil them both!

If there was any left I'd let charity have it.

If I won £100,000, I'd be able to get a mortgage for this house!

I love it and it has a garden so we could let Imogen explore outside and have another dog!

See a tax accountant, assess what would be left after taxes, and invest most of it prudently. Then, buy an Apple laptop, hire a smart young student to download all my favorite music on an iPod and set it up to work on speakers. Then make a generous contribution to Alley Cat Allies, the local shelter, and cancer research.

sorry which house Liz - that link just took me to their front page.

I think I would buy a narrowboat and travel around the canals and waterways of England. I'd make sure the boat was snug and that I had some feline and maybe canine company. I know that OH would like this adventure too, but we'd have to find somewhere else for MIL to live first, which would probably take most of the money!

Angie, have you read Deborah Crombie's book Water on a Stone? One of the characters lives and travels on a narrowboat; very interesting, I knew nothing at all about them before reading it. It's one of a series of police procedurals; excellent all of them!

That is a very pretty house Liz - you'd be perfect for each other.

Eileen - I haven't heard about Deborah Crombie, so I will look her books up. I went on a narrowboat holiday many years ago and loved it. Such a gentle, slow pace of life and a perfect way to watch wildlife in the quieter parts of the waterways.

That's the great thing about Lotto winnings here in UK Eileen, they are tax exempt.
