New Cat scratcher.

The last one I bought hasnt lasted, half of it is fine, the other is on its way out with heavy Cats leaping on it!

Hopefully this one will last, solid wood legs and bases. Liked these when I saw them at a Cat show. Just thought it was worth mentioning.
Dawn.

Re: New Cat scratcher.

Dawn you need to be more lateral thinking; stairs are perfect cat scratching posts....lined with good quality carpet and underlay, one staircase can last a cata lifetime if humans renew the carpet on a regular basis.............

I really like the Russell Hardy catscratchers. They are expensive but they certainly last.
This is the one I have.

Thats really nice Dawn, I resorted to a complete heavy wooden one, my lot just destroy ordinary ones...

They look good and sturdy Dawn........Cassie could do with something like that, she scratches her post so vigourously that she often pulls it over!

Re: New Cat scratcher.

I have a Russell Hardy one too and it's fantastic

I would recommend either Russell Hardy or Kalven cat scratchers as they are made to order and made from proper wood with screws - not like the MDF flatpacked ones you can buy in local pet shops and on the net

Leia (and her predecessors) has a big real tree branch; she also likes to use the top of the wooden wine rack! She has never once used the scratching part of her cat tree......
