My baby was neutered today AwwwwwPoor little lamb, I HATED leaving Scrabble this morning.. I know, I am a saddo, but I cried when I left him at the vets. I hated not knowing where he would stay for the day and what was going to happen to him. I am such a wuss!! Well he is home now and basically has been curled up in a ball on my bed for the last 4 hours ever since he got home. His "brother" has now joined him and they are cuddling together. Poor little mite, I feel so bad but I know neutering is essential. Aren't I stupid!

No your not stupid.. He's your baby  I was the same and I still am... Awwwwwwwwww hope he's ok and he'll be right as rain before you know it.. |

Thanks babycakes, yes he is my baby hehe He has never just slept for all this time.. am sure he will perk up tomorrow. The vet said he wouldn't be dopey at all, they were obviously wrong about that!Do you know how they actually perform this operation (if that's what it's called?)? I noticed his "boy bits" had slight bleeding, I assume that is normal? He has no shaved bits, how do they get in to do it then? |

They just do make two small incisions and key hole snip the epidydimis (I think thats the one) anyway the tube that carries the sperm. My little boy left little drops of blood in places for a couple of hours after but was fine. It's not as big an op as it used to be so not under anaesthetic as long but Denis was a bit sleepy for a couple of hours and then right as rain. It just depends on the cat. Denis was a live wire kitten so he wouldn't sleep for long. Lots of extra cuddles for scrabble for loosing his little man pieces.. I've just booked Denis into cattery next week and I will be blubbering all the way home!!! |

Thanks for explaining that all makes perfect sense. I too am sure he will be fine later, I will try and tempt him with a tiny morsel of food when he gets up - as the vet advised. Awwwwww the cattery!!! Yes I too would be weepy leaving my cats at the cattery, I have always been able to either use a neighbour or a professional cat sitter so not had to use one in years, but remember the feeling well! Thanks for all your help babycakes xx |

Aww bless him, he is now up, found my son's feather collection and has been throwing them up in the air and playing very happily.. now munching away on a small amount of dinner bless him.  |
