Round the World - but how?

Okay based on the family in the news who sold their home and gave up their jobs brought an old coach - converted it and are now off round the World for 18 months. They have three children 16, 12 and 9/10 if memory serves.

So if you were going to go round the World how would you travel??? and where would you go?

Re: Round the World - but how?

Not a good question for a person who dislikes travelling....but if I did. would hire a limo and chauffeur and stay in good hotels, I like my comfort, no adventurer me! Cross the ocean by boat, as flying terrifies me. The UK, France, Italy, Greece, Egypt, China, Japan.

It would have to be a luxury liner for me, really do it in style, and take my time, can't stand rush, rush, rush.
I quite fancy Peru, Iceland, Tahiti somewhere quite different from European holiday destinations. (quite a mixed bag of places there, could be a lengthy cruise!!)

I wouldn't like to cruise anywhere, I don't think I could stand being at sea that long Train........no I think I would fly everywhere, then I could get in as many countries as possible. I would probably start east to west too!

Re: Round the World - but how?

I would go by VW camper van, with the bottom half below the windows painted with poppies or daisies. always fancied that
I think I would go through Europe, Italy and Germany. I would love to visit Canada and Alaska, and no idea why but its always been a wish to drive through Maine USA, also Graceland - home of Elvis.
And of course Washington to see Eileen,

Would also like to see Japan.
