Jobless and skint, but so happy

Well, this morning Ive been grinning like a cheshire cat

For all of you that have read my past thread ON DOGSEY about my OH boss bullying him the you will no the relief I am now feeling
For months now his boss has taken every little thing out on my OH, Paul has been stressed none stop, working al hours god sends, sometimes going in at 6am and not getting back til 10pm and not being appreciated for it.
Always being talked down to and generally taking all his self worth away from him

This weekend Paul has been oncall, so on saturday when his boss phoned he thought it was a call out, instead he got a load of abuse because his boss couldn't find something that paul has never even seen before,
so the last straw came when his boss gave him a txt this morning at 4.45 am to say 'its 6.30 in the morning and you better not be late'

Well, Paul finally cracked, and I told him to tell his boss where to go, so whilst we'll have no money, if he stays there we wont have a relationship left from the stress

So at presisely 6.30 this morning, Paul turned up at 'work' to hand over his things, while telling his 'boss' 'Im just not taking anymore'
The best part came when his 'boss' in utter shock didnt no what to say, all he could say was 'dont I even get a weeks notice'

So off we go to th jobcentre today, and all though we will be skint and jobless for a while, I cant help but smile, its the best thing that has happened in ages

Does he have union support?
This sounds like harrassment.
Employment tribunal?

Good luck - it's probably for the best. Who knows what the future holds.

No union Im afraid, its in his contract that he cant be part of one
But dont worry, off to the CAB we go, I wont let it rest, even if the a*hole was unaware that he was being that bad

I agree with the others......take this further, I think your OH has done the right thing, at the end of the day money is not everything......he can always take on temp. work until he finds a new job which he would like.

Good Luck to both of you ((((((hugs)))))) x

Good Luck - I know what its like - I've been there myself and I suffered for over a year made myself really ill - tried to take it further and it made it worse. Hes done the right thing walk away with full health and start somewhere else - thats the best thing you can do.

Good luck to you and your OH.

I agree that it should be taken further and his boss made aware of how awful his actions were.

Best of luck and at least you have your health and each other!!!!
