Rescue update - 22nd April

Thought I'd update you all on the cats I have in.

Oscar is ok, he went to the vets & his wounds are healing well, but he's got antibiotics & needs to be seen again in 2 weeks. Dot took him (the lady who has offered to do my vets trips) & she even made his next appointment too!

Cara is fine & her kittens are now 5 weeks old (just 17 sleeps until Milo can go) I think she is a bit tired & sleeps a lot. Glad when she can relax when the kittens have gone. I will be getting her spayed as soon as I can. Erins friend may be interested in her.
All 3 kittens are reserved. the 2 females are going to live together.

Midnight is ok. Her kittens are 2 weeks & doing fine. The male is reserved & the 5 females all need a home.

Precious & Twinkle have gone to their new indoor foster home until their dad is well enough to have them back. I was getting a new cat in there yesterday, but with the sudden rush of litters & pregnant ones, there's been a last minute change of plan & I am getting a pregnant cat in soon. (when she can be trapped, lady has got the trap now)

The lady who had a trap off me 3 weeks ago for another pregnant cat hasn't been able to catch her, so unfortunately I have to let the pen go to another cat. However as you know if she ever manages to catch her, I couldn't say no & would have her in a kitten pen I'm sure.

I've spoken to all the other people with pregnant cats & everything is in hand now.

Re: Rescue update - 22nd April

The new helper Emily who is 17 came for her first hands on session last week.
She sat & played with the kittens, socialising & grooming them & had quality time with all the adults.
She said she enjoyed it & would be in touch.....

That was last Sunday....haven't heard from her since.

Dot who is keen to get involved in the branch is fab. She's a lovely lady & is going to do all my vets trips. I asked her if she wanted me to accompany her on the 1st trip or could she manage & she said no-she'd be fine. She booked the appointment, collected Oscar, brought him back & made his next appointment too. She does work full time, but is happy to go to the vets after work some evenings, she lives & works in the same village as I live.

Re: Rescue update - 22nd April

The cats & kittens def benefit from Emily coming, but if she doesn't want to come again it's not the end of the world.

Dot will be a huge help to me I'm sure. It's the vets trips that take up my time. I hate going there when I've been at work all day & the problem is I travel so many miles in a day, if I make an appointment for a certain time I need to be back to get there & if I'm stuck in traffic (which I often am) then it becomes a problem. With Dot being so local, she's ideal.

No - she's taking a year out & waiting to see if she can get a place at an agricultural college next year. So she doesn't go to school / college / work at the mo. She may well get in touch, it's only been a week, but I thought she would have phoned me to say when she'd be coming again.
