A right Royal Mail mess up!My postman delivered a card from Royal Mail with my post yesterday to say they were holding a letter for me at their main office. I went there this morning to collect it only for the guy on duty to look at the envelope, which had a sticker on it saying £1.05 to pay....... he scratched his head saying "this can't be right, there's nothing wrong with it!" It seems some idiot had thought it was over the regulation size for small letters and stuck the extra fee to pay sticker on it!! It was well within the regulation size so someone there is not doing his job properly  Well, it turned out to be a birthday card from a very dear friend, which was posted on 1st March to reach me on 3rd March. Not only was my card late, it took 8 days for Royal Mail to notify me that they had it  ...... and I didn't have to pay anything after all!!! What a waste of time Was I fuming ....... and it takes a lot to get me ruffled too!!Rant over ............ and I had a lovely birthday card!

Oh how annoying! I don't see the point of this 'mormal' & 'oversize' thing of the Post Office. They say it won't actually bring them any extra money ...... so why bother  ? It's not an easy thing to understand - obvious from your experience Mags. Ho hum. |

Oh it's driven me nuts lately with this stupid new letter size ruling of Royal Mails! Even when you go to the post office to get a stamp for a normal leter or card, they bring out their 'measuring board' just to check!! Absolute stupidity by my reckoning! |

What a shame Mags. When someone has gone to the trouble of remembering to post something on time and the post office cant remember to let you know they have it . As you say at least you have a nice card to look at! Poor you though, you must have thought your friend had forgotten. |

How very irritating! We don't have that size rule here (yet!!), just pay by what it weighs. Doesn't make much sense to me...anyhow, you were remrmbered and did get your card,,,eventually... |

Oh how annoying, poor you! Its not easy sending mail now with this new size thing. And we could do without muppets like that working in the sorting office. lol |
