Dahlia help!

I had some very beautiful dahlias growing in my garen last year. First time I had ever grown them and I was very taken with them, so when it came to the end of the season I dug them up as per my neighbours instructions, dried them out, wrapped them in newspaper and ..........now what?? What do I do to get them ready for replanting or do I just stick them back in the ground, and when do I do this? Novice gardner really needs help here

Re: Dahlia help!

Thanks for that Eileen. Time to go and buy some potting compost and soil. I've got the pots, so will hopefully get them planted next week. They were so beautiful last summer, so really looking forward to having them in my garden again!

Re: Dahlia help!

Will love to see some pics of them! I like the little miniature ones, they fit in better in a very small yard; love the big dazzling dinner plate size dahlias, but just take up too much space!

Re: Dahlia help!

Mines are in between Eileen. But the vividness of the colours was spectacular! The only downside is the petals dropping. When they go they go all at once it seems, and I spent hours picking the blasted things up, lol! Worth it though!

That is lovely, isn't it; if I had room I'd get the Lilac time! The Mignon miniatures are the ones I ordered, as well as the blue geraniums.
