15 GD pups

Yesterday one of the bitches that I supervise whelped. The lady needed some support so as I was not well, one of my collegues went to sit with her. Lorna had 15 pups - wow!
Her 1st litter & the ladies first time too.
we often have litters of 10, 11, 12 occasionally 13, very occasionally 14 but 15!

15 puppies!!! It's hard to imagine that she would be able to carry that many!

Did they all survive Smudgley?

Re: 15 GD pups

Well it won't be X as that's the only letter we don't use.
She's a black lab, mated to a GR.
Not sure how many dogs / bitches.
My mate has been out to see them again today & reports all is well.

Re: 15 GD pups

Why do you mate Labs to GR's then Smudgley are they "better" guide dogs?
And do you cross German Sheperds with anything?

What breeds do you use????
