Daily thread - Monday

Brrr - things are cooling down and the sky looks heavy. We don't have any snow forecast, maybe sleet tomorrow and sub-zero temperatures just for tomorrow. Think this is due to be a short sharp freeze, with temperatures back up by the end of the week.

Apart from my exciting start to the day (see thread 'A rousing start ... in Cat-related chat) nothing planned. Am on my own till Wednesday evening, so I can do as I please anyway. Actualy my OH is coming up your way Fran, so keep an eye out!
Looking forward to the Andy Murray/Rafael Nadal tennis in a little while. Don't suppose the Brit (Brit if he wins, Scot if he loses! lol) can do it but hey - who knows?
Hope everyone has a good day

Re: Daily thread - Monday

It's wet and dull here, but doesn't feel too cold (the heating's turned off and I haven't rushed to turn it back on again so therefore I surmise it ain't too cold ).

Have cleaned up the kitchen floor and there is loads of washing on ready for ironing later today. Need to finish off clearing our junk (antique chairs, crystal glasses - that kind of junk ) out of the wardrobe in the soon-to-be-aupair's room, it had kind of become a storage cubby hole and all needs to be found a new home.

Sebastian is sleeping, long may that continue coz when he's awake I can do little except pacify his screaming. Back to the specialist this week methinks if this doesn't abate.

Right - onwards . . . have a lovely (yeah right) Monday everyone

Its sunny yet cold here, was the same yesterday and we had hail at the same time Most curious..
Its one of those days today [been one of those months actually!] where motivation is at a big low..so not quite sure what the day holds.
Everybody [furred] is outside lapping up the sunrays...i feared for my own life if i didnt let the cats out who were screaming blue murder when they saw a blue sky!

Murray's giving a good account of himself - well done. And he appears much more mature, thank goodness

(My OH saw Brad Gilbert (Murray's coach) on TV yesterday and declared that he is a look alike! There is a similarity, and as Gilbert is over 10 years younger than my oh I suppose that's not too bad! ) http://www.bradgilberttennis.com/

Mags - what's your wallpaper like?

Yola, when does the AuPair start? I hope she works out. It sounds like you could really use the help and it's nice to have another adult about to chat too.

Afternoon all! Hubby has had the day off today so we have been out and about doing bits of shopping. Not much else planned for today other than the usual.

DM - if your hubby is up these parts, I hope he has packed his thermals! It's freezing and there has been snow fall in parts

Hope you are all having a lovely day

Thanks Jac - I hope it all works out too! Ken's picking her up from the airport at 0640 on Wednesday It's Stansted so it's probably the worst drive possible and with the weather promising to be pants I'm glad it's him going and not me!!

Adult chat?? She's not quite 19, so I'm not sure if we'll have masses in common . . . still, it'll beat having a conversation with a purple-face baby What I'm happier about is that I can get back to the office in the next couple of weeks which will mean I can start thinking about things other than nappies, weaning, and wandering around the shops aimlessly (not that my shop-wandering is ever aimless )
