OK lets start another story

One nice sunny day in the highlands all was quiet. We decided to take a walk along the rambeling brook. There was three of us and a dog, however one of the cats thought it was a dog and was following us. We got as far as the rickety bridge when the fog came rolling in.......................

Re: OK lets start another story

A cotton-wool thick cloud suddenly engulfed us, and visibility was but a mere memory.

You'd have thought the cat would have been the problem, cat's being known for their independent and sometimes almost contrary natures. Not so. Flame was leading the way and, having forgotten his forray into doghood, was creeping through the bracken at the edge of the path, a flickering glow of bright orange almost-but-not-quite clear between feathers of thicker and thinner white. Now and then he'd look back to make sure we weren't starting anything more worthwhile to stalk than the wisps of denser fog, or the odd beetle available to him.
No, it was the dog who had been faithfully trotting in circles around us, following whatever traces of scent that canines find around paths like this, who suddenly pricked her ears...
