A BM of 24 is whey too high CJ Keep an eye on it. Do you adjust your insulin accordingly?

Re: no wonder...................

It's easy to forget yourself when looking after sick little-ies.
And why does chocolate seem more tempting than soup when you're under the weather?
Good idea to drink lots, take care with the exercise for a day or two.

Re: no wonder...................

Being under the weather like you are will certainly caused your BMs to go up but perhaps if you are often running BMs at that sort of level you may need to consider medication?? Hope you feel better and your blood sugar level comes down to within a more 'normal' range x

Re: no wonder...................

well my sugars havent gone above 9.3 since october. until oct i was on metofrmin ( lord knows I ahte that stuff for it's side effects!!! which I am sure I dont need to describe to you fran lol)
Whilst pregnant i was on insulin.
I got so sick of the side effects of metformin I stopped taking it and then when i had my stroke was told i didnt need it anyway, as by then ahd been off it 2 months and HBA1C was 5.9.

But yes indeed, it COULD be time to sort out meds again.
Down to 19.5 now. slwoly trickling down, but of course i dear not each much while it this highg.

If not down by morning will give my diabetic nurse a call, jsut to keep her informed.
but I will look after myself, not to worry. and hubby here from 8pm sat night to 8pm sun, so i can really play on it a bit lol

Re: no wonder...................

Yes Metformin can have some very undesirable side effects. There are newer drugs CJ which are much more tolerable..Have a chat with your diabetic nurse
