the squirrels in the garden


we have a large tree in the communal garden, and this morning i was watching a squirrel playing, he was pouncing on a stick, then running around all skittish, he was like a kitten playing, my cats where sitting on the windowsill watching making kitty attack noises. didnt think of getting the digi cam out sorry. but it was lovely to watch

Squirrels are lovely, we get them here in my garden, love watching them along with the garden birds on the bird table.

They are fascinating aren't they - but sooooooooooooo bad............eating baby songbirds, damaging trees etc.
They are good time wasters!
(If they has tails like rats we would all hate them!)

Dinahsmum, you are SO right...my neighbors & I call them arboreal rats!! They dig up tulip & crocus bulbs, steal tomatoes just when they're almost ripe & were looking forward to one for lunch..I hate 'em!! But have foiled them at the bird feeder: I had to hunt all over the Internet to find a REALLY squirrel-proof one (had tried others with no luck ) This one works & I get a nasty grin every time I see a new one try unsuccessfully
