I found a dog today

I was driving back from a day working in Telford today & on a very fast road saw a little lurcher type dog, dodging the traffic, all the cars were scooting round her & racing off, on their way

Of course I stopped & crouched down & called her to me, she came over but was timid - a van was coming, but he saw what I was trying to do & just waited. I managed to catch her & she was a poppet, although very scared. I popped her in my dog cage in the car. Didn't know where to go but went to a couple of farmhouses & a boarding kennels, noone knew where she had come from.

I was just about to bring her home when I saw a stables & I pulled in. No luck there, but then a guy pulled in who was looking for her. He said it's his friends dog & he was out riding his horse with the dog & when he looked round she's dissapeared. I told him she had some very near misses on the main road, he thanked me & off he went with the little doggy.

Thank goodness you found her Smudgley, she is now safe!

It didn't take much - just half an hour out of my day to help this little girl find her way home.
But aren't people horrible to just ignore her & drive around her, there are no paths there & it was obvious she was scared.
