Need opinions about Beauty please!

Before you vote about this or read any further, could you please read the thread that's set me off thinking this?
http://www.catsey.com/showthread.php?t=27978

Basically, Beauty's been at the vets and it doesn't look promising (see above thread)

I don't think it would be kind to keep her going, if it's cancer, considering she's old, been in pain, arthritis bothering her, been vomiting.

Do you think it's better to keep her going or to have her pts at home?

I'm sorry but I am unable unable to vote on your cat's life like this, am I right in saying you haven't got a diagnosis from the vet yet? I hope and pray for Beauty's sake it isn't anything terminal but I really do think you should be guided by your vet.

Oh please don't take offence by my reply dear, but I don't think a poll is the way to go. Such a decision must be made with opinions from the vet, your loved ones and thought about with heartfelt emotion. Please don't take a vote on Beauty's life, she's worth more than this.

I'm shocked and saddened that your cat's life depends upon the result of a poll

Only you, with the guidance of your vet can make a decision like this.

I don't think it was meant that we would be deciding; as I interpret it as more asking for our thoughts and feelings more than an actual vote....... when you're very upset and more or less in a state of shock you don't aways word things as carefully as you might. There are too many intangibles here: is it definitely the C word, is it operable, is she in pain ...... ? only you, your family and your vet can cone to that decision. My prayers are with you and Beauty .....

Just a note to say I have closed the poll.

By all means get people's opinions, but I feel a poll isn't appropriate. Sorry.

Everyone above has expressed very articulately what I feel too. I am truly sorry and am sure that you are much too upset to make any decision at least until you have a further diagnosis from your vet.

Can I suggest that when you go back to talk to the vet, take someone else with you if at all possible. ***HUGS***
