how to stop cats bringing in mice - dead and alive??

I have 2 cats, Angel brings in dead mice, not pleasant but can dispose of. but more of a problem, Marmite brings them in alive - setting off a huge mouse hunt around the house...
anyone had any success with stopping this behaviour??

Nope, no success at all here! We've recently had the house rewired and had to move the fridge/freezer, we were expecting to see something dead behind there but there was nothing (except rather a lot of dust and fluff ) When we told the electrician this he laughed and told us he had found a dead mouse under the carpet in the back bedroom He also said it was very flat!

Absolutely no way I'm afraid, short of keeping them indoors all the time. It's their nature.

As far as mice and rats go that's the reason our ancestors made friends with cats in the first place ............ I do feel sorry for the voles though.

Just resign yourself; it's their nature and they will do it; punishing and scolding will do no good and simply confuse them.

I agree with everyone else, if you have a cat it is something you have to accept about them. I don't like it and have rescued countless mice, birds, etc over the years, but it is their nature.

All you can do is put a collar with a bell on them, though I can't guarantee that would stop the behaviour completely.

I agree with everbody else, don`t think there is a way to stop them unless you keep them in all the time.
