Re: Eva has cystitis

Is Metacalm a liquid or a pill? Whichever, bet it's going to be a problem! How do you take a urine sample...I've never had to do that....

Re: Eva has cystitis

Matacalm is a liquid. Had to give her 14 drops tonight, 7 drops for the next 4 days and then 1 drop after that. Ended up using a syringe this evening, she wasnt happy.
As for the urine sample, I will have to confine her to one room on friday and wait for her to pee. Collect the pee in a dropper and get it to the vets for testing. Friday may be a long day.

Poor Eva and poor you! I do hope you manage to get the sample with relative ease and that the Metacam makes her feel more comfortable. Would she not take the drops in her food Elaine? I think Metacam should be given with food anyhow??

Re: Eva has cystitis

She wouldnt touch the food that I had put drops in and I couldnt leave it out for fear of Bernie eating, he eats everything . It says to give with or after food so I waited till she had eaten something then gave her some.
She brought me a mouse to go with her metaqcam tonight
