Oscar (elderly cat) has Conjunctivitis. I came home from work and his eye was not right and had a bit of gunk in the corner. However I thought this isn't right took him to the vets who said conjunctivitis. We now have drops - should be fun he has to have them two drops twice a day.

Apparently according the vets we have caught it early ie with 7 hours, as this morning he was fine no problems.

Any tips from someone who has experience of putting drops in cats eyes please?

Awww, sorry to hear about Oscar Kazz.....hope it clears up soon. I don't envy you trying to put drops in a cat's eye....it sounds like a two-man job to me. Let us know how you get on!

The only way I can do anything like that Kazz, is to wrap them in a towel..

And to be honest he may be right I think it will become a one woman job - Ben won;t help he is convinced Oscar just tolerates him - Oscar was in my heart first  and because he was so ill treated as a kitten he is very aloof - although he Oscar has softened slightly. Ben is convinced if he does anything that he (Oscar) does not like he will be back to square one ie Oscar hating him.

And to be honest he may well be right Oscar needs no one but me in his head, but Ben may have to be called into action - even if he does not like it.

Don't you think cats always seem to pick one person,I don't think I have ever had a cat that I would say was a family cat...

Well, after all, we do feed them, water them, clean out their litter tray etc etc......no wonder they love us best!!!

You need to meet my Cleo she is a tart  honestly she will roll over for anyone and I swear she treats complete strangers in the same way she treats me.

And I've been in her life for 23 years  She is the family cat the book might have been written for. In fact she should have been a shop cat you know the one who lies on a counter and holds court. :-D

She is terrible honestLy it took me about 10 years before I could trust her not to follow people down the road - she never did but I always thought she might. From children to old people she loves evveryone and sort of jumps/raises herself to rub against their legs. Head and tail in the air. And falls over when anyone strokes her -

One second and I will get one my neighbour took one the other day of her as she ambushes him on a regular basis. She just lies in his path or tries to entice him

It's hilarious, I have wooden floors down stairs, they slide from one end of the hall to the botom of the stairs, usually ending up in a heap..

Oscar just ignores guests its taken him 10/11 years to get used to my nieces and they were here from babies. :-D He lets them stroke him now, although he was always gentle.

But visitors he doesn't run just ignore them or walks out.
