Just reading about the rehoming of Smudgely's Salem made me realise how lucky he is!

Black and tuxedo (black/white) cats are the most difficult to home? From my work with CP we ALWAYS have cabins full of black and tux cats.

I don't know why these particular colours don't attract homes as readily as others but it's a real shame :(

It is a shame. They always look sooo smart.
Same applies to black dogs too - look in any shelter and it's the big black dogs that are difficult to re-home. :(

I never realised that. Colour shouldn't come into it :(

I went to Battersea last year & the girls there were telling us some really intersting stuff, including that all the black dogs are hard to home:?

Aw he looks like one of my old neighbours cats, Treacle. This was the one that used to lie upsidedown under our radiators all day (and night). Sadly he met with a car a little while after our friends moved to Suffolk!!

I adored that cat and shed a tear when they moved away with her

We had to rehome 2 x black/white cats lately that had just been left in a empty house across the road along with 2 x dogs who were also black/white. It took a very long time but we did eventually do it. I don't have any black or black/white cats at the moment but I used to have one of each and they were both real characters. I am hoping that my Tortie girl will give me a Black Persian male kitten next year. Fingers crossed.
