Age and "baggy" belliesWhat age did your cat get a baggy belly you know what I mean don't you I can't think of any other way to describe it but a saggy belly. Karen

I know exactly what you mean Kazz! I suppose Cassie has had hers since she was 3 (she's 7 now). Hers is so floppy and not that far off the ground  My previous cat had it as well and when I asked the vet about it, he said it was a build up of fat. That put my mind at rest as I was beginning to worry about it. It got to a stage when I was looking at every cat to see if they had the same.......and they didn't  Perhaps I've been overfeeding them.....or they are just lazy!  Would be interested if anyone could explain it |

My MIL's oldest cat has got to be at least 10 and she's looking really fit, no saggy belly, yet her daughter who is 2 has a really saggy belly  |

Amber has the saggy'est belly in the world, I think it has something to do with the age that the are "done" Archie my male cat has not got one and Daisy (my moggie) who was "done" at a mature age does not have one. Amber is slim and not over weight but does have a really saggy belly - its quite cute though!  |

Ahh, that might explain it. Cassie was 'done' at six months and Sam at eight months. It's nice to know that there are several more saggy bellies out there besides mine (oops I mean Cassies  ). |

You could be right about the excercise thing though, Cleo had her saggy belly from about 7-8 I think and she never went anywhere except the front or back garden. Whereas Oscar never got his till he was about 15-16, and slowed down a little. Karen |
