Ancol Fat Boy Cat Scratching Post

I was looking for a new post for Cheetah and read some of the old threads here on Catsey where many of you recommend the Ancol Fat Boy, so I went out and got one today

The sisal rope seems a bit loose - what was it like for you guys? Wonder how long it will last

Looks good; don't have that one so can't comment on the rope. Has Cheetah used it yet; is she a vigorous scratcher?

That looks a nice solid post, Az ..... Cassie has an ordinary one which I've just tested with my fingers. I can't move the sisal rope at all on it so if yours is the same, I would say it was ok.

Is that the lovely Cheetah whizzing past it behind? She'll be perched on top of it in no time!

I have one of those, must have had it a few years now and it's still going strong. Cannt remember the rope being slack, it is a little slack now.

Re: Ancol Fat Boy Cat Scratching Post

my three kitties love their fat boy.. we have had it for just over a year now and its still in top notch condition. The best idea ever as we were spending a fortune on scratching posts that didn't last very long!! The rope on ours wasn't slack - and still isn't. hope Cheetah is enjoying hers!!

Dylan insists on using the fence in the garden (he's still at the old house until we get back off holiday next month by the way)

Re: Ancol Fat Boy Cat Scratching Post

I have had two "ordinary" scratching posts for 15 years or so (can it be that long?) They have got a bit hairy and need replacing really as the carpet bits are very faded. They are still regularly used ............. but now you see I am tempted to replace them!

Thanks for the replies all. Here's a few more photos - sorry the whitebalance/colour is a bit off (forgot to set it properly!)

Good to see the lovely Cheetah again ... been a while, Az! Love that first pic! What an intent look of concentration on her face.
