Acer and Dogwood

It's such a gloomy day out I thought I'd brighten up with some color from last week when the sun was shining and the trees coloring ......

Dogwood in the foreground

My old acer .

Most of the leaves are down now with the recent rain and winds....pretty while it lasted.

Re: Acer and Dogwood

I just love that Acer - mine is tiny next to that magnificant one.

I have just last year put in some red stemmed dogwood, hoping it comes away ok.

I think Autumn is one of the most beautiful times in the garden for all these lovely greens, golds and reds. Sadly never managed to get pics this year.

Hoping for a dry weekend so I can continue the tidying up.

It's close to 40 years old! Dug it up as a tiny seedling in the park (quite illegal !) many years ago, and it has thrived!

Sounds like something I would do! I have been known to pinch cuttings.

Re: Acer and Dogwood

Lovely photos - thanks Eileen. Colours here have been splendid too this year. My little acer has nearly lost all its leaves now - it was like a flame this year. I have some green dogwoods that really glow - I also had 3 red ones, but unfortunately one died during the year. The red ones don't seem as hardy here as the green ones.
