Rollercoaster Ride

Hi There!
Sorry I haven't been looking in on you for a few days. My mam has been in hospital undergoing tests for unexplained anaemia. Well after the transfusion she perked up but now sad to say, she's worsened. Yesterday she underwent an endoscopy for suspected gastric ulcers, which proved that she'd had them but there was no new ulcers or bleeding to be seen. She seemed to get over the scope then at 3pm during my visit she had a massive heart attack. Thank God we were in hospital and so close to CCU that she got the best of care stat! She's now recovering, off all drips and oxygen just taking lots of meds and waiting to be transfered to our cardiology centre in Cardiff. May have to have a coronary bypass if her condition allows.

I'm a bit stressed out, lack of sleep etc. But family and friends are rallying around.

Will be around from time to time to see 'what's occurring' (as they say down ere)
Keeping my chin up, Nette x

Best Wishes for your mum's speedy recovery from all of this, how alarming it must have been for you to witness her heart attack. Good thing that she was able to get immediate treatment.

Re: Rollercoaster Ride

Thank you all for your kind thoughts. Yes, if it wasn't for where she was at the time I truly believe we'd have lost her. Thank goodness for on the spot help and expertise. Mam has always been so well and young for her age, I really can't quite believe it's true. She's a non-smoker, hardly ever drinks alcohol, active and eats a good diet. No way is she a candidate for heart problems but there ya go.
She is recovering well now though, I just hope we get good news about the arteries and the damage to the heart muscle is not too large.
Mam has a Christian faith and I know she'd appreciate your prayers. Thank you all, again.
