Giant Flea!

For National Flea Week (19th-25th May) our practice decided to put up a display in the waiting room, I volunteered to make a papier mache flea. I soon regretted this as I made my design far too complex and it took me about 1 month to complete. Anyway, as promised (I think to Eileen and Angie!) here it is!

Re: Giant Flea!

On the theme of making things, since I've been off work this week, I've been knitting! Here's what I made today,

The pink one has cellophane and stuffing and the other has catnip.

Oh I absolutely love those mice!! You're very talented: did you have a pattern for them?

Re: Giant Flea!

DM-I just knitted a square, folded it in half and sewed up the side seam. Then stuffed it from the top and stitched that up too. I made up a pattern for the ears. It's quite good fun actually, it only takes about 1hr to make each one. I've made one for all my colleagues cats.

They are lucky! I used to make little home-made hand-sewn mice, but it's odd, since I've retired I seem to have less time than I did while working! Of course, that was in the pre-Catsey days..
