FIV Kittens

I don't suppose anyone knows of anyone looking for an FIV kitten? We had a mum and 2 kittens brought in a few weeks ago who all tested positive. It looks like mum has found a home, but the 2 little ones are still looking.

Re: FIV Kittens

well from what I know Smudgley they are 8/9 weeks old, preferably to go together. They are both boys, ginger and ginger and white. Very cute! They will be ready to go in approx 4 weeks when they are neutered. And of course they will be vaccd etc, plus we have now started microchipping. All the usual home visits etc and that's as much as I know just now. I dont know if it was an inhouse test Elaine.

Re: FIV Kittens

It couldn't be the elisa test Elaine if they know 2 are positive, they are too young to test.

She wouldn't have 2 - I know that.
She has a FIV adult, she had her from me. She has been already been home checked by our branch.

Re: FIV Kittens

Excuse my vet sceptical nature but do the definately know the kittens are FIV+, if they are too young to test? I mean they may have done the elissa test on mum and made the assumption.

they are too young to Elisa test. But can be PCR tested at this age.
