Three things

Does anyone else believe that once one thing has gone wrong that another two things will happen. Bad/Good comes in three's?

Well at my brother's house yesterday my hairdryer blew up . Then when Ceilidh shut the car door the switch for the electric window fell off. Couldn't find it although I did hear it drop. Then today as I was leaving Gordon's, I picked Ceilidh's jacket up off the chair and knocked my mobile to the floor with a crash. Yip it's broken.

I remember years ago my Granny broke two things then broke a match to stop a third thing.

Re: Three things

I've always been taught that rule as well Jac, superstition I know, but I cat help but worry if two things happen close together. I'm always waiting for the 3rd!

Re: Three things

I've heard that all my life, and while I'm not really superstitious, I do sort of believe it.....I also don't walk under ladders, throw a pinch of spilled salt over my shoulder, and worry a bit at a broken mirror...but I'm not superstitious...

Re: Three things

It is a superstision however do we just look for the third thing?? And in looking do we stop at the third once it's done (could there be fourth and fifth things??) what about the days when we are not looking for the third thing and we only can remember one or two things?

Too logical I had three things break within 24 hours and Ceilidh broke one but they were all my things. Wish I had, had a box of matches lol
