Cats and water

I ve owned many cats over the years, but max, my big cat has a strange fixation with water from the dogs water bowl. He will play in it, empty the entire contents of it and I have even found him actually itting in the bowl with the water. Now Max hates the rain and is in the house like shot when it comes down. Any comments welcome

Re: Cats and water

This isn't too unusual. I personally have never had a cat who did this, but there have been posts here before about cats who do...I'm sure someone will have info for you...it's nothing to worry about, really!

Re: Cats and water

Denis is always in the bath. (especially fi the shower has just been on) If I am in the bath he plays in the water. I've now bought him swimming toys. He plays in the sink and used to run from the rain but now he sits in it for longer each time as long as it isn't too heavy

Re: Cats and water

My cat purrdie used to love water. whether it was in the shower or a tap in the sink she was right in there. It was a bit of a pest with the dogs bowl so I lifted it off the floor on a stand. Problem solved.
