Jet's not 100%

This past few days I have noticed Jet isint herself. She just seems to want to sleep and her breathing seems a bit heavy when she is lying down, as if she is bunged up in her nose.

This morning she didnt want to get up ( usually once my alarm goes off she is in on the bed to get me up) but she eventually did and went out for a few minutes and was back in.

She is eating OK and her eyes are bright and she is alert and the skin on the back of her neck is loose so not dehydrated. She isint sick or has 'the runs' but just looks as if she is feeling sorry for herself. I am hoping it maybe an 'off' day for her.

She is due to go to the Vet in a few weeks for her yearly injection, am just wondering if I should take her sooner if there is no change, any ideas.

I think I would pop her along to the vet. If she is poorly s/he won't do the vaccination anyway - that will have to wait a week or so.
Do you think Jet has a little chest infection? You can sometimes pick up if a cat has a temperature by feeling their ears or pads - they seem hot to the touch.
Hopefully it's something or nothing and a simple few days of antibiotics will sort it.

Will try that when I get home tonight. She will probably sleep all day without any interuption and maybe she will be a bit brighter.

She was fine last night, was outside for ages and I was playing with her before i went to bed and she was in good form.

Maybe I am worrying too much but just want to be sure she is OK.

You could possibly wait a day or two to see if she shakes it off - if she's eating etc it's prob not urgent.
However, cats are also very good at hiding illness - they tend not to make a fuss, even when they are quite poorly.
It's up to you, you know her best and you should judge whether her behaviour is so unusual she needs professional help now. I'm not too happy to hear of laboured breathing though.

All things considered, if she's still a bit off colour tonight, I'd get her over to the vet - often it's best to follow your instinct! Please let us have an update later if you have a moment.

I'd go with DM's advice Andrew, breathing problems should alays be investigated I think, and it's better to be on the safe side. Let us kno how she gets on!

I'd agree with that, Andrew.

I think a quick check up by the vet is in order. Even if it turns out to be nothing, at least it will have put your mind at rest.

I hope she's a bit better today.

Jet is fine now, back to her normal self. Worry over.

Maybe she was just having an off day or wanted a lie in.

Will mention to vet, in a few weeks, about her bunged up nose but it seems to be when is is sleeping.
