Cats - can anyone explain?

Can anyone explain why everytime I clean out the cat litter tray she uses it?
She sits and watches me clean it out then off she toddles. I wouldn't mind if the tray was "unusable" before.

It must be a universal cat thing! All of mine have done it...very funny when two insisted on "christening" it at the same time....
