My front garden today Thursday

Well yesterday I managed to cut the grass, and this is the garden as from today you can see how quiet it is no roads nothing and why Cleo and Oz loved it out there so much perfect safety (car wise) As you can see the poppies are not far from bursting out, early this year I think they liked the rain.

Thats not my intention, I figure a clean/tidy garden is a healthy garden I don't mind the plants being "wild"

You're right - the less rubbish/rotting /overgrown stuff the fewer slugs and snails, as they have no hidey places, and the less chance of disease.

Lovely garden!!! I adore your railings. I'd love to put railings back to our front garden (as per Georgian original), but house was listed with a hideous 70s-style wall so we're stuck with it!!!

Really Yola? Go to your local Council and ask them (there should be a Listed Building specialist there) I would think they'd be delighted to restore the true Georgian look. Or perhaps you've already asked?

DM - the problem is, it's a terrace of 6. 5 are houses and the end one is 2 flats. 4 of the 5 houses are privately owned but one (inhabited by an old couple) is owned by the original 'management company' the bought up the terrace in the 60s when it was derilict. In order to restore ours the council would demand (and 3 of us have checked independently), that the whole terrace gets done, as the listing always refers the the 'unique' aspect of the terrace as a whole. And we know that the flats and the mgmt co. won't shell out. So we're kind of stuck
