Kittens opening eyes - different in long & short hairs?

I'm not sure where Bentley's human mum got the info but she was saying that long haired and short haired kittens open their eyes at different times - can't remember the details, but it was one at 5-8 days one at 8-11 days or similar.

Anyone know if this is so, and if so, the actual facts?

I haven't heard this DM but really wouldn't like to say if it's right of not Any kittens I have had, have opened their eyes between 7-12 days...but I know the breeder of the Siamese I am waiting on has a litter of Cornish Rex that opened their eyes day 4 and they are a very short coated breed

I have always known kittens to open their eyes at around 10 days. Maybe Kay could shed some light on the long hair query.

kittens can open eyes at any time,no real set rule.As most of you know i breed Persians, some are open fully at 5 days and others are longer.Had one litter that didnt open eyes till 17 days old. Also repeat breedings can open eyes at different times.Have to say most of mine open eyes fully by 7 days..Hope that helps,
