Nothing to report....

I said I'd be getting some new cats in......

well, the 1st one is a pregnant female that has been hanging around a ladies house for a while. The vets have confirmed her pregnancy & said she is due soon & probably within 7-10 days. I spoke to the lady today & said I'd take her & arranged for her to bring her over today. Then the cat sneaked out the house & hasn't been seen since. I have explained to the lady that she could well go & hide & give birth, so she is going to try & find her & phone me as soon as she does.

the 2nd new one is from a colony of stray / ferals that are living rough & keep breeding We are aiming to catch a pregnant one. I'm not trapping them, but the lady who is, is really experienced - so hopefully she'll catch the right cat soon.

So hopefully one or both will come in tomorrow.

I hope she finds the first cat that is pregnant - poor cat

Do you catch and neuter the feral cats?

Re: Nothing to report....

Yes, we are currently dealing with a relatively large colony (large for this area anyway) & as far as I'm aware some of them are pregnant. We trap / neuter / release. (but if pregnant we let them have the kittens 1st - then neuter / release) Never had a problem taming kittens from a feral mom, have had a few "words" with feral moms along the way when trying to take babes away for handling / socialisation & they are sometimes not too happy.

I'm sure the stray will be back tonight or tomorrow - she's been there for a while now & been coming & going. Will keep you posted.
