Been looking at various cat food website, and somehow managed to come across this site:

I have noticed that no one on this site has mentioned they feed their cats Iams, and wonder whether it is because of this animal cruelty. My daughter has always told me never to buy Iams because of animal cruelty but I was never sure she had heard right (didnt buy it anyway as it would of upset her if she believed this).

Does anyone here know of this to be true, or not?

Donna - you would be shocked how many companies test their products on animals and subject them to horrifying ordeals and yes Iams is allegedly one of those companies

I am talking about pet foods - know there are obviously lots of animal testing that goes on, but assumed pet foods would not be in the equation as its to the benefit of the health of a pet, so why injure another to do tests?

I didn't mean to worry you Donna, I am just pointing out that there are several companies who's practise of testing is very questionable..look into it when you have time..

As mentioned above, the main culprits for cruel and unethical animal testing are the major international 'pet' food businesses.

• IAMS / Eukanuba owned by Procter & Gamble
• Hills Science Diet owned by Colgate Palmolive
