New kitchen - works in progress

Well the start of the new kitchen is happening today - a new ceiling.

But already a major disaster!!!! Upon working on the ceiling it has been discovered that an old chimney breast has been taken out of the kitchen and has not been supported!!

This chimney goes up into Emma's bedroom then out onto a chimney stack on the roof. Not what I wanted to hear. So dangerous and lucky it has not fallen over the last three years I have been here

It is too costly and time consuming to remove the whole chimney in Emmas room and roof, so it has to now be supported properly. More cost and more time consuming.

Hope the rest of the job goes to plan. Will post pictures as I go and here are the first few of the said problem

Messy kitchen

The problem chimney breast

And just for Fran:-
