Musical memories

What songs/records/tunes/jingles bring back memories for you?

I can think of 4.

Good Vibrations/Beach Boys - Just part of a 'fab' summer when I was young
Up, Up and Away (would you like to fly in my beautiful balloon) . What a song to have as 'your' song, but it was played all the time/everywhere when OH and I met (summer 1967 )
Isn't She Lovely?
Wonderful Baby (think that's it....Wonderful baby, ... blah blah,.... float by, just counting their toes)
both of the latter crooned to Katie when she was, indeed, a baby

What's yours?

Re: Musical memories

My dad used to sing us a song can't remember what it's called but it went something along the lines of
'Early one morning just as day was dawning I heared a maiden calling...'

Unfortunately when me & OH met the song that was always being played was the Spice Girls 'Wanna be my lover'

When the kids were babies they'd fall asleep listening to Savage Garden - Tears of Pearls

Re: Musical memories

"New York New York" Always signalled the end to a great night usually a Christmas/Wedding/Work do etc etc. Happy times.

"Amazing Grace" I just really like that, and it was something my Nan used to Hum/sing as she went around the house garden so maybe a deep seated memory.

Almost everything by the Beachboys reminds me of summer, As long as I am in the garden anything reminds me of summer.

Re: Musical memories

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road ~ Elton John in '73 .......it seemed to be played every day during my pregnancy and I continued singing it quietly to the twins at night for ages after!

Re: Musical memories

You are once, twice, three times a lady.....a good friend of mine once said that that was my song

Madonna - like a virgin..released whilst I was at college doing my degree in education. First time away from home and I was so unsettled and lonely I couldn't sleep, so used to listen to the radio Luxemburg all night and that song seemed to be played more than any other..
