Whats Dorset like?

Does anyone live around Wareham in Dorset? My Fiance is from there and we want to get married around the area as its so beautiful. I have been to Yeoville were his mother lives which is very pretty and we are going to Dorset in the next few days. I'm a bit nervous because I will meet his grandmoother for the first time!

Is there a nice place to get married around there? Its not going to be a non-religous ceremony and reception.

Re: Whats Dorset like?

Dorset is (IMHO) one of the most beautiful counties in Britain. Wareham/Isle of Purbeck/Studland is wonderful - not like where I live further north in the county, which is on rolling chalk, the Purback area is in acid heathland but is stunning and has the coastline.
Here's some pics
Studland Bay (National Trust)

Jurassic Coast

Chalk Down

Durdle Door

Studland in Winter

I've found these hotels which do Civil Weddings
www.mortonshouse.co.uk
www.purbeckhousehotel.co.uk
www.knollhousehotel.co.uk
www.themanorhousehotel.com
and there's a generic www.dorset-hotel.co.uk

Samwise lives in Dorset too - she's nearer the coast but to the west of the county, away from Purbeck. I'm sure you will enjoy your trip CM - Dorset looks good in midwinter too!

Give me a shout if you think I can help more.
