Catnip: yes or no?

Of my four cats, three go wild for catnip and one is just not at all fussed - which is quite funny, because she's "top cat" - so one of the others is rolling around drooling over a new catnip toy until she bullies them off - then can't work out what all the fuss was about!

I've heard somewhere that catnip only affects about 50% of cats - what's other people's experience with their cats?

All 4 of mine love it! Scooter guards it, then eats it, the others roll on it. Put some on the carpet, its great fun watching them wriggle everywhere!

Moli doesn't react at all to it. I bought her some Catnip treats and she turned her nose up at it

Mine don't do 'dried' but Tizie likes to roll in the real stuff in the garden.

I have a feeling it's mainly 'a boy thing' - aroma reminds them of .........something - even if they visited the vets at an eary age and don't know what the something is that it reminds them of!

Re: Catnip: yes or no?

All 8 of my Persians go beserk for it. Last time I sprayed it on the scratching post it nearly fell over because all of them went mad on it at once. Having said that only 3 of the cats like toys with catnip in the others aren't bothered. The spray must be stronger.
